Maura Higgins is an Irish television personality, presenter, and model. She rose to fame in 2019 when she was a finalist on the fifth series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island. Since her appearance on the show, Higgins has collaborated with numerous fashion and makeup brands.

Early life and career


Higgins was born on November 25, 1990, in Ballymahon, County Longford, Ireland. She has two older brothers and a younger sister. Higgins attended secondary school at Ballymahon Vocational School and then studied nursing at the University of Limerick. After graduating, she worked as a nurse for two years before deciding to pursue a career in modeling.

In 2017, Higgins signed with a modeling agency and began appearing in print and television advertisements. She also worked as a brand ambassador for several companies, including Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing.

Love Island


In 2019, Higgins was cast as a contestant on the fifth series of Love Island. She entered the villa on day 12 and quickly became one of the most popular islanders. Higgins was known for her outspoken personality and her fiery relationship with fellow islander Curtis Pritchard. The couple finished in fourth place, losing out to Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea.

Post-Love Island


After leaving Love Island, Higgins has continued to work as a model and television personality. She has presented several shows on ITV2, including Celeb Juice and The Only Way Is Essex. Higgins has also appeared on several reality television shows, including Dancing on Ice and Celebs Go Dating.

In 2020, Higgins launched her own clothing line, Maura Higgins Collection. The line includes a range of clothing and accessories, including dresses, tops, and swimwear.

Higgins is currently in a relationship with comedian Chris Taylor. The couple met on the set of Celebs Go Dating in 2020.
