Meet The Gentlemen Behind The Genius

Luke Hemmings

Luke Hemmings is the lead singer and guitarist of 5 Seconds of Summer. He was born on July 16, 1996, in Sydney, Australia. He has two older sisters, Lauren and Amy. Hemmings began playing guitar at a young age and started writing songs when he was 14. He met the other members of 5 Seconds of Summer in 2011, and the band released their debut EP, "Unplugged," in 2012. 5 Seconds of Summer's debut album, "She Looks So Perfect," was released in 2014 and peaked at number one in Australia and the United States. The band has since released four more albums, "Sounds Good Feels Good" (2015), "Youngblood" (2018), "Calm" (2020), and "5SOS5" (2022). Hemmings has also written songs for other artists, including Niall Horan, Troye Sivan, and Julia Michaels.

Michael Clifford

Michael Clifford is the lead guitarist and vocalist of 5 Seconds of Summer. He was born on November 20, 1995, in Sydney, Australia. He has two older brothers, Joshua and Cameron. Clifford began playing guitar at a young age and started writing songs when he was 13.
