Melachi Visus: The Boy Who Could Not Lie

By Melachi Visus

I have always been a terrible liar. I can't even tell a white lie to save my life. My face turns red, my voice cracks, and I start sweating. It's not that I'm a bad person; I just can't seem to do it.

When I was a kid, I got into a lot of trouble for lying. I would tell my parents that I had done my homework when I hadn't, or that I had cleaned my room when I hadn't. They would always know that I was lying, and they would punish me.

One time, I got into big trouble for lying to my teacher. I told her that I had lost my homework assignment, when I had actually just forgotten to do it. She gave me a zero on the assignment, and I failed the class.

After that, I decided that I was never going to lie again. And I haven't. It's not always easy, but I'm glad that I'm honest. I'm sure that one day it will inspire someone to be honest.

Here are a few tips for telling the truth:

  • Look people in the eye. When you're telling the truth, you have nothing to hide. So look people in the eye when you're talking to them.
  • Be clear and concise. Don't ramble when you're telling the truth. Be clear and concise, and people will be more likely to believe you.
  • Be consistent. If you're going to tell the truth, you have to be consistent. Don't tell different stories to different people.
  • Don't be afraid. Telling the truth can be scary, but don't be afraid. If you're honest, people will respect you for it.

Telling the truth is not always easy, but it's always the right thing to do.

Remember the story of Melachi Visus, the boy who could not lie. Be like Melachi.
