Michael Keaton




Michael Keaton is an American actor who has starred in a wide range of films, from comedies to dramas to action movies. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film Batman and its 1992 sequel Batman Returns, and as Beetlejuice in Burton's 1988 film Beetlejuice.
Keaton was born Michael John Douglas in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, on September 5, 1951. He attended Kent State University but dropped out after two years to pursue a career in acting. He moved to Los Angeles in 1975 and began appearing in small roles in television and film.
Keaton's first major role was in the 1982 comedy Night Shift, in which he played a medical student who moonlights as a stripper. He went on to star in a number of successful comedies, including Mr. Mom (1983), Johnny Dangerously (1984), and Gung Ho (1986).
In 1988, Keaton starred in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice, which was a huge commercial and critical success. Keaton's performance as the eccentric ghost earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination. The following year, he starred in Batman, which was also a huge hit. Keaton's portrayal of the Caped Crusader was praised for its darkness and intensity.
