Mary Hays or better known by her nickname Molly Pitcher was a big help during the American Revolution Battle of Monmouth. Molly was a Patriot who carried out pitchers of water to many soldiers during the battle. When her husband collapsed during the battle she took over the cannon position. She was in the Continental Army until the war ended and soon moved back to Pennslyvania. Since the death of her last husband William Hays, she soon married John McCauley. The Molly Pitcher story shows how much women can help out in situations like this and we should not be underestimated based on gender.
