Odyssey midfielders debuted in the Super League with a 4-0 victory over FC Voluntari, a match where "Romario of Craiova", as he was nicknamed, delighted the supporters with his evolutions and decisive passes.
In the summer of 2021, Moruțan signed for Galatasaray, in a 3.5 million euro deal, becoming the most expensive Romanian transfer of the summer, alongside Ianis Hagi.
On 18 August 2021, Moruțan made his debut in the Süper Lig, in a 2–0 away win against Giresunspor, where he played 69 minutes. On 30 October 2021, he scored his first goal for the club, in a 2–1 home win against Beşiktaş.
In October 2022, after almost a year in which he did not score, Moruțan scored twice in the Turkish Cup match against Ofspor.
For the Romanian national team, Moruțan was part of the group that qualified for the 2020 European Championship, and also played in the final tournament.
It remains to be seen if Moruțan will manage to regain his form and become the player he was before the injury, but the supporters of Galatasaray and the Romanian national team hope that he will.
