The Future of Mobile Age



Once upon a time, the use of mobile phones is limited to those who need it most. The age bracket even limits to those considered as legally adults. While the age of modernity is starting to get younger with younger users more knowledgeable in this field than their aging counterparts, there is a certain threat to how young users can become.

New studies by Ericsson has been stirring many technological articles nowadays in which it states that in the next five years, the world should expect almost 90% of children aged 7 are to have their own mobile phones. Same study is shown by Axis Capital Group, a subsidiary of XL Axiata, one of the Indonesia’s largest mobile operators. Jakarta earlier reported that mobile phones now double the number of people living in the city.

In reviews, children in daycare nowadays have their own smartphones, usually given by parents for security measures. Nearly one in 10 schoolchildren gets their first mobile phone by the time they are five.

As well as arming kids with mobiles for emergencies and peace of mind, it is imaginable that many parents have bought their kids smartphones just to stop them commandeering their own when bored. Many parents also say that it would be better for their kids to get engrossed on their smartphones than on the drugs and bad company.

For trendsetters’ sake, many parents are also buying their children handsets to get in with the current flow of the world.

Many experts give out warnings to parents on the way they permit their kids to use their phones. Most of the respondents say they do not limit the data usage of their kids hence exposing them to a more brutal world cyber-ly.

It may seem that children are being watched by their parents and are always at home but having these mobile phones may also make them more distant than ever. Since the device is privately owned by the child, the parents may not be able to control what he does with it anymore, hence, the root cause of most family problems nowadays.

Think long and hard about whether your child actually needs rather than wants that phone. The protection of children is obviously a key factor in their usage of mobile phones, but as long as the proper precautions are taken to ensure maximum safety of children using handsets, then they absolutely have their benefits.
