My Old Ass

As I approach my 40th birthday, I can't help but feel a little nostalgic for my younger days. I remember being so full of life and energy, and I was always up for an adventure. I didn't have a care in the world, and I thought I had all the time in the world.

But now, as I look back on my life, I realize how naive I was. I didn't know anything about life, and I made a lot of mistakes. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self a few things, to warn her of the challenges that lay ahead.

If I could go back in time, I would tell my younger self to:

  • Don't take life for granted. Cherish every moment, because it will never come again. Life is a precious gift, and it should be lived to the fullest.
  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, and it's the only way to learn and grow. Just don't make the same mistake twice.
  • Don't let fear hold you back. Fear is a powerful emotion, but it can also be a paralyzing one. Don't let fear stop you from following your dreams.
  • Be kind to yourself. You are your own worst critic, so be sure to be gentle with yourself. Forgive yourself for your mistakes, and learn from them.
  • Don't worry about what other people think. It's impossible to please everyone, so don't even try. Just be yourself, and the right people will come into your life.

I know that I would have ignored all of my advice if I had heard it when I was younger. I was too stubborn and too full of myself. But now that I'm older and wiser, I can appreciate the value of good advice.

If you're reading this, and you're young, I hope you'll take my advice to heart. Don't make the same mistakes that I made. Learn from my experiences. And most importantly, enjoy your life!
