NATURE, NATURE, NATURE: Personal Narrative Essay
Nature, nature, nature! What really is nature? Do you know a synonym for nature could be beautiful, or amazing, or attractive. Nature is a very broad topic and is viewed and analyzed from different and various perspectives. Some people appreciate nature, while others depreciate nature and care less about nature or what it has to offer. In my opinion, nature should be appreciated. The word ‘appreciated’ is an understatement. Nature should be respected and treated like a person.
Imagine the water bodies (sea, river, lake, ocean) being a human body. The way people dump waste products in the water bodies, imagine somebody dumping waste products on you as well. I know you would not like it. Beautiful people of the world, the same way you would feel if waste products are dumped on you, that is the same way nature feels. Nature should be treated more like a person and just not like random things. Think about most of the stuff that are considered as nature; The trees, plants, flowers and many more. They are considered living things, and so they should be treated like an actual living thing.
It is very sad that sometimes when we look around our environment, nature is being destroyed. People dump stuff anywhere and care less about nature. Our waters are being polluted with plastics or some waste products. Our air is also being polluted, as well as our land. In order to preserve nature, one thing we can do is try as much as possible to recycle items, especially our plastics. Also, we should dump or dispose waste products appropriately.
We should be very aware that nature has a lot to offer, but how can we actually know this? We can know this by preserving and protecting nature. Take a moment to look at the trees around you, the flowers, the sky, the mountains, highlands, you can see how colorful and beautiful they look. Nature is powerful. The sound of nature heals, it inspires, it encourages, it is not just ordinary, it is very powerful and supernatural. Nature should be treated as part of one’s offspring. The same way a mother would take care of her child, that is the same way nature should be taken care of. Watering the trees, plants, flowers, volunteering for cleanups in the community, conserving water, avoiding chemicals running into the waterways, and many more, are good ways to preserve and protect nature. I grew up knowing three ‘R’ words to always help me remember to preserve nature. These words are; ‘Reduce,’ ‘Reuse,’ and ‘Recycle.’ Try to reduce the amount of plastics you use, reuse them, or even preferably, recycle them. I will definitely teach my children these words and I encourage everybody else to take these words very important.
In Africa where I come from, there is wildlife there and we try our best to keep the wildlife conservation going on. You can feel how comfortable and good the animals are living because nature is being preserved. The sight of it would make you feel at home, and I am telling you, nature never rejects, it is always very welcoming. That is one reason why we need to appreciate and value nature. Looking, listening, and observing nature deepens your thoughts and makes you appreciate being alive. It teaches you how to value things, especially little things. All you need to do is open you heart and mind and welcome nature. You would not believe what nature has for you if you welcome and appreciate it. Nature also makes you understand life cycle and connects you to everything natural.
Conclusively, any and everything natural is the best. Preserve, protect, and value nature. Remember! Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! Sit back and enjoy what nature has to offer.
