Nationwide 100 bonus
Who needs a windfall?
It turns out that Nationwide customers could be in for a treat. The building society has announced a £100 bonus payment for eligible members in 2024.
But who will get the bonus?
You'll need to have one of Nationwide's qualifying current accounts and either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage.
The qualifying current accounts are: FlexPlus (when the monthly fee is paid), FlexOne, FlexStudent, or FlexGraduate.
To qualify for the bonus based on savings, you must have had at least £100 in total in one or more personal savings accounts or cash ISAs on 28th February 2023.
If you're a mortgage customer, you'll qualify if you had a mortgage with Nationwide on 28th February 2023 and it's still open on the date the bonus is paid.
When will the bonus be paid?
Nationwide plans to make the payments between June 13 and June 28, 2024.
What do I need to do to get the bonus?
Nothing! If you're eligible, you'll receive the payment automatically into your Nationwide current account.
Why is Nationwide giving out bonuses?
Nationwide says the bonus is part of its "Fairer Share" initiative, which aims to share the society's profits with its members.
Is there a catch?
Not really. However, it's worth noting that the bonus is taxable, so you may have to pay tax on it if your income is above the personal allowance.
