Nderitu Gachagua: A Life Well Lived




Nderitu Gachagua was a Kenyan politician who served as the first governor of Nyeri County. He was born on July 29, 1952, in Githunguri, Kiambu County. He attended Nyeri High School and later the University of Nairobi, where he studied economics and political science.
After graduating from university, Gachagua worked as a civil servant in the Ministry of Finance. He later joined the private sector, where he worked as a financial consultant and investment banker.
In 2013, Gachagua was elected as the first governor of Nyeri County. He served in this position until his death in 2017. During his time as governor, Gachagua focused on improving the county's infrastructure, education, and health care system. He also worked to promote economic development in the county.
Gachagua was a dedicated public servant who was committed to improving the lives of his constituents. He was a strong advocate for the people of Nyeri County and worked tirelessly to make their lives better.
Gachagua died on February 24, 2017, at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, United Kingdom. He was 64 years old. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and his three children.
