Nebraska Basketball: The Cornhuskers' Quest for Glory

Nebraska basketball, once a powerhouse in the world of college hoops, has endured a long stretch of adversity, but the Cornhuskers are slowly but surely clawing their way back to the top.
The Glory Days
In the 1990s, Nebraska basketball was a force to be reckoned with, led by legendary coach Danny Nee. The Huskers made six NCAA Tournament appearances during that decade, including three Sweet 16 berths and a trip to the Final Four in 1994.
A Long Drought
However, since the departure of Nee in 1999, Nebraska basketball has fallen on hard times. The Huskers have only made two NCAA Tournament appearances in the past 23 seasons, and they have not won an NCAA Tournament game since 2006.
A New Era
But things are starting to look up for Nebraska basketball. In 2019, Fred Hoiberg, a former NBA All-Star and coach of the Chicago Bulls, was hired as the Huskers' head coach. Hoiberg has brought a renewed sense of energy and optimism to the program.
The Fab Five
Hoiberg has also brought in a talented group of recruits, known as the "Fab Five." The five-star recruits include Bryce McGowens, C.J. Wilcher, Trey McGowens, Eduardo Andre, and Derrick Walker. These young stars are expected to lead Nebraska basketball back to the NCAA Tournament.
A Bright Future
The future of Nebraska basketball is bright. With Hoiberg at the helm and the Fab Five on the court, the Huskers are poised to make a run at the NCAA Tournament and beyond. The Cornhuskers have a long way to go, but they are finally headed in the right direction.
