Nike is the world's largest sports shoes and sportswear brands, it is undoubtedly the most trusted name for sports enthusiasts and even professional athletes.
Considered as the creme dela creme of fitness, sports, and lifestyle products, Nike is a brand everyone with an active lifestyle must have. Established in 1964 by then track and field athlete and student Philip Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman. Nike was formerly known as Blue Ribbon Sports which sold Onitsuka Tiger sports shoes. It wasn’t until 1971, that Blue Ribbon adapted “Nike”, named after the Greek goddess of Victory. Within the same year, the brand incorporated their signature swoosh, made by then graphic design student Carolyn Davidson who was paid $33 for the logo.
Throughout the years, Nike has partnered with big names in sports and fashion. Among the most iconic collaborations is with Michael Jordan in 1985, coming up with the iconic and much celebrated Air Jordans which remain popular 31 years after its release. Other collaborations with Nike include Kobe Bryant, Kevin Hart, Stefan Janoski (skateboarding), Eric Koston (skateboarding), and Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy). Every year, Nike keeps on getting better and better with their design, reaching out to many designers, athletes, and style icons that would make the brand stand out even further.
