Northwestern Just Had the Sweetest Moment

Saturdays in Evanston might just be the best in the Big Ten.
No, seriously. Hear me out.
Northwestern Basketball has never been... great. They have had their moments and have even upset a few ranked teams from time to time, but for the most part, they have been a below-average team in a power conference.
But this year, something is different. The Wildcats are 15-5, with wins over Michigan, Purdue, and Maryland. They are in contention for the Big Ten title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
And it all came to a head on Saturday night.
The Wildcats were hosting Purdue, one of the top teams in the country. The game was close throughout, and it came down to the final possession.
Northwestern had the ball, trailing by one point. The Wildcats ran a play that got the ball to Pete Nance in the post. Nance turned and shot a fadeaway jumper over Purdue's Zach Edey.
The ball hit nothing but net.
The Wildcats won the game 61-60, and the crowd at Welsh-Ryan Arena went wild.
It was a moment that Wildcats fans will never forget.
For years, Northwestern has been the laughing stock of the Big Ten. But on Saturday night, they showed that they are a team to be reckoned with.
The Wildcats are now one of the most exciting teams in the country. And if they can keep playing the way they have been, they have a chance to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
So if you're looking for something to do on a Saturday night, I highly recommend checking out a Northwestern basketball game. You might just see something special.
