Nottingham Forest: A fairy tale of dreams, determination and desire

If you would have told me this time last year that Nottingham Forest, a team languishing in the depths of the Championship, would be on the cusp of the Premier League, I would have certainly laughed in your face. However, here we are, with a trip to Wembley for the Championship playoff final fast approaching, and I have never been more nervous and excited for a game of football in my life.

It’s no exaggeration to say that this season has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me as a Forest fan. The highs have been incredible, such as our 4-1 victory over Leicester in the FA Cup, and witnessing Taiwo Awoniyi score a last minute winner against bitter rivals Derby County in front of the home crowd. But there have also been many lows, including some woeful away performances, and the occasional shock defeat to teams who we really should have beaten.

Throughout it all, though, I’ve never lost faith in this team. Even when we were struggling for form, I always believed that we had the potential to achieve something special this year. And, as the season has progressed, we’ve started to fulfill that potential. We’ve shown great character to come from behind and win games, and we’ve developed a real never-say-die attitude. Above all, we’ve played some of the most attractive football I’ve seen from a Forest team in years.

A lot of the credit for our success this season must go to Steve Cooper, our manager. He’s instilled a real belief in the players, and he’s created a team spirit that is second to none. I have never witnessed an atmosphere at the City Ground as good as this season, both on and off the pitch. There is a real family feeling amongst the fans, something I've not seen in over 20 years as a season ticket holder.

We are now just one game away from the Premier League. It’s going to be a tough game against Huddersfield, but I believe that we can do it. We’ve come too far to give up now. I would like to finish by saying a big thank you to Steve Cooper, the players, and the fans. You’ve made this season one to remember. Let's all get behind the team and make sure we get over the line and back to the Promised Land.

Come on Forest!
