ASHLAND – Trinity Lutheran Church's exceptionally old line organ is being reestablished for people in the future to partake in its rich sound.

"It resembles craftsmanship," church Music Director Ron Marenchin said. "Various times have various sounds."

Trinity Lutheran and Schantz Organ Co. Have cooperated starting around 1930, said Schantz Vice President Jeffrey Dexter, taking note of this is the third line organ project the organization has taken on with the congregation — the most including undertaking to date.

Trinity Lutheran Church's line organ is over 100 years of age and is being repaired by and by the Orrville-based Schantz Organ Co.

Trinity Lutheran's line organ started out in 1908 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Worked by the M.P. Moeller Organ Co., Trinity's unique organ was the 924th organ Moeller delivered, Marenchin said.

The line organ was reconstructed in 1930 by the Schantz Organ Co. As the Myers Memorial organ, given in memory of Mr. And Mrs. F.E. Myers by their three youngsters, Mary, Helen and John C.

The line organ was subsequently moved and fitted into the new organ chamber when Trinity's new church was worked at 508 Center St.

Trinity Lutheran has needed to update the congregation pipe organ for a long time, Marenchin said. On account of a liberal gift from the home of Ashland local people Jim and Suzy Clark, that want is a reality.

"(We have) conversed with the congregation for two or three years about doing the task," Dexter said.

Work started in May. The organ is currently being gathered in the congregation, Dexter said.

"It takes a great deal of work in light of the fact that each one is unique," Dexter said. "Each one is hand crafted."

"The congregation has been a customer for quite some time," he said. "The life span of line organs (is extraordinary) ... Knowing something we made in 2021 will outlast we all."
