Around 1,200 Competitors Expected At Slovenia's Ironman Race, 19 September 

STA, 6 July 2021 - Slovenia will have the third Half Ironman race on 19 September, the Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria. The coordinators expect around 1,200 contenders from 50 nations. The race was canceled last year due to Covid, this year they hope to proceed with various measures to ensure the wellbeing of the racers. 

Race chief Milan Eržen told the press on Tuesday that it stayed indistinct what sort of limitations should be seen in two months. "We'll do everything to give greatest security to the contenders and every one of those included." 

The race includes a 1,900-meter swim leg, trailed by a 90-kilometer circle by bike around Istria and a 21.3-kilometer run, for the most part along the coast. 

Jure Leben, the top of the Slovenian Triathlon Association, said the coordinators were enthused about making this a high level occasion that will likewise fill in as a motivation for sporting long distance runners in Slovenia.
