The Centurions have won six continuous WPIAL titles and have completed first or second in the PIAA for six sequential seasons, winning in 2018 and '19.

North East, from District 10, stopped GCC's shot at winning three in succession, 241-247, in the 2020 state last.

However, with four starters returning, the Centurions hope to add to their inheritance.

"I'm amped up for the season," said GCC mentor Gerry Police, who is in his fourth season. "We have a decent establishment back, and it ought to be loads of fun."

Returning for their senior year are the Zambruno twins, Ella and Meghan. Additionally back are seniors Liv Cana and Tyler Zierski, junior Haley Dill and sophomore Izzy Aitner.

The Zambrunos and Aitner, alongside graduate Angelika Dewicki, addressed the Centurions in the group finals.

The entire season, the WPIAL groups played five golf players and tallied four scores. In the state competition, groups are allowed to play four golf players and tally just three.

"Every one of the young ladies played in the mid year and showed momentous improvement," Police said. "Probably the greatest improvement I've seen is in their putting. This is the best six golf players I've seen here."

The Zambrunos played in various PGA Junior occasions, and the rest did well playing in the Tri-State Section PGA Isaly's visit.

Meghan Zambruno found the middle value of 37 for each nine holes in 2020, Ella Zambruno 38, Aitner 40, Kana 46, Zierski 52 and Dill 53.

"I realize what I will get from the Zambrunos. They are the best of the best," Police said. "However, I feel Izzy is prepared to make some commotion. Also, the fight for the fifth spot among Tyler and Haley will be incredible. They will fight each other the entire season. Every one of the young ladies can score well."

Furthermore, with regards to huge competitions and intense difficulties, Police said he feels that playing in the WPIAL and PIAA competitions has helped the young ladies.

Story proceeds

"It unquestionably loosens up them," Police said. "They've been there, and they get what to do. The setting doesn't make any difference to them as long as they play their game."

And keeping in mind that the Centurions will graduate the Zambrunos and two different seniors, Police said the future looks solid. He has four young ladies in preparing to join Aitner and Dill.
