Evergreen Goan In Kuwait Celebrates 70th Birthday

Senior sibling of commended writer and artist late Rosary Ferns, Fidelis was brought into the world to Feliciana Fernandes, and Jose Luis Fernandes – an exceptionally regarded teacher of his time who had his own tuition based school which was subsequently gone to Infant Jesus High School by the then Colva area cleric. 

 

Fidelis is the second kid in a group of seven youngsters - four siblings and three sisters. His different kin are sisters Deodita, Margaret, Antonette, and sibling Peter while the oldest sibling Rosario and most youthful Rosary Ferns, have left this world. 

 

Fidelis in Kuwait - Early Days:After first arriving in Kuwait, Fidelis quickly showed his adoration for Konkani dramatizations and acted in the show 'AizMhakaFaleamTuka' coordinated by Pedro Jose Fernandes in 1977.Fidelis was stage chief and guide separated from acting in the dramatization. During the days of yore, guide was an absolute necessity as no artiste remembered their part by heart; as such Fidelis' job was vital. 

 

He coordinated his dad's show called 'Trim OdhTuka' at the Indian Arts Circle, Salmiya in November 1984. The show was booked for November 8, however must be delayed because of Indira Gandhi's demise by multi week. It highlighted two critical triplets – one by Mendes siblings and the other by Cajetan-Xavier-Marcus. 

 

He at last coordinated a few Konkani shows and dramatizations is still vigorously engaged with sports and social exercises.
