Ex-Corona Del Mar Baseball Coach John Emme Dead At 57

The Daily Pilot announced that Emme was harmed Sept. 4 in a bicycling mishap in Newport Beach. The Pilot said Emme had been in a state of unconsciousness from that point forward and was being really focused on at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana.
Emme resigned as the Sea Kings mentor after the 2018 season, his 21st as the group's mentor. He stayed at the school as an instructor and got back to the ball club as an associate mentor this previous spring.
He instructed Corona del Mar to two CIF titles, in 1999 and 2004, and 335 successes. Kevin McCaffrey, who was a Corona del Mar partner mentor prior to supplanting Emme as lead trainer, told the Daily Pilot that Emme "just lived for CdM baseball."
"He had an energy for being out on the field and being with the young men," McCaffrey said. "Clearly, it's troublesome at this moment, breaking it to our group and the young men in the football crew was quite extreme. He adored CdM."
