Elon Denies Richmond With Goal-line Stands As Defense Delivers First CAA Football Victory

RICHMOND, Va. — Elon covered an undeterred presentation on protection with an objective line remain during the last two minutes, solidifying its 20-7 loss of No. 22 Richmond in Colonial Athletic Association football Saturday at Robins Stadium.

"As far as we might be concerned, we were 1-0 this week," Elon mentor Tony Trisciani said. "That was the arrangement and we realized we were fit for it. Beating a positioned group added to the carrot that was hanging before us. We needed to take care of our work and be focused and limit botches and huge plays." 

Richmond crushed Elon 38-14 (at Elon) and 31-17 (at Richmond) in March during the condensed spring season. 

On Saturday, Elon's protection conveyed a shutout across the game's last 3/4 and constrained two turnovers – a mishandle recuperation by guarded lineman Joey Barbera after cautious back Dylan Tucker batted down a pass voyaging in reverse, and cautious back Tre'Von Jones' capture attempt in the end zone.
