DA Wants To Know If Alleged 'sex Pest' Coach Will Be Picked For The Tokyo Olympics

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it has kept in touch with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) over worry that a mentor who had a criminal argument opened against him for sexual maltreatment could be chosen to go to the Tokyo Games. 안전놀이터

DA MP Veronica van Dyk said in an explanation that she had likewise asked Sascoc president Barry Hendricks "for a report on the situation with shielding approaches to shield competitors from victimizers that he vowed to place in place‚ just as which alliances have refreshed their arrangements to incorporate defensive measures against inappropriate behavior or misuse".

Van Dyk said genuine claims had been made against mentors from different codes‚ including some under the ward of Swimming South Africa (SSA).

Criminal bodies of evidence were opened against three swimming trainers last year‚ two of them including instances of recorded maltreatment.

None of them have been criminally charged at this point.

Sascoc is set to report more individuals from Team South Africa on Thursday evening.

"Sascoc has had adequate opportunity to research claims of sexual maltreatment against these coaches‚ which incorporates the [coaches] at SSA‚ just as various charges evened out against water polo coaches‚" Van Dyk said.

"Sascoc can't keep on putting athletes‚ some underage‚ in danger."

Van Dyk said the DA was strong that the criminal equity measure runs its course.

"However‚ we demand that all mentors who have claims against them‚ and particularly those against whom criminal cases have been opened‚ should be suspended quickly and not under any conditions be permitted to go with these competitors to the Olympic Games or some other rivalries forthcoming the result of the examinations."

Hendricks said he had recognized Van Dyk's letter and kept in touch with the game portfolio board of trustees in Parliament.
