South Iredell High School rising green bean Colt Bass impacted the world forever June 26 in Des Moines, Iowa, turning out to be North Carolina's first National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) All-Around Cowboy World Champion. 

"It's anything but a ton," said Bass, who won $6,350 in grant cash. "It's a major achievement for the state and for me." 

The 14-year-old, who turns 15 not long from now, turned out to be only the third such top dog East of the Mississippi his mom, Tori, noted.
