BUENOS AIRES (AP) — Argentinian golf player Ángel Cabrera, a previous Masters and U.S. Open hero, was condemned on Wednesday to two years in jail on attack charges against his previous accomplice.
A court in the area of Cordoba, 500 miles (around 800 kilometers) northwest of Buenos Aires, sentenced the 51-year-old for attacking, undermining and bothering Cecilia Torres Mana, his accomplice somewhere in the range of 2016 and 2018.
Cabrera, who denied in the preliminary any bad behavior, will carry out his punishment right away.
