Obsessed.

It was a restless night in the suburbs of San Diego. I was lying in bed, scrolling through my phone’s music app, trying to find something to fall asleep to. I came across “Driver’s License,” Olivia Rodrigo’s debut single, and it was like a thunderbolt. I was immediately obsessed.
I listened to the song on repeat for hours, and I couldn’t get over how raw and vulnerable Rodrigo’s lyrics were. She perfectly captured the pain and heartbreak of young love, and I felt like she was singing my own story. I knew that I had to see her live.
A few months later, Rodrigo announced her first headlining tour, and I bought tickets for the San Diego show. I couldn’t wait to see her in person and experience her music live. The night of the show, I arrived at the venue early and got a spot at the front of the stage. As soon as Rodrigo walked out, the crowd went wild. She was even more amazing than I had imagined.
She played all of her hits, and she even sang a cover of Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well.” I sang along at the top of my lungs, and I felt like I was in a dream. It was one of the best nights of my life.
Rodrigo is more than just a singer-songwriter. She is a role model for young people. She has shown us that it’s okay to be vulnerable and that it’s okay to be heartbroken. She has given us a soundtrack for our teenage years, and I am so grateful for her music.
I am so obsessed with Olivia Rodrigo because she is a true artist. She writes songs that are honest, relatable, and beautifully written. She is a role model for young people, and she is an inspiration to us all.
