Olga Korbut




Olga Valentinovna Korbut is a former Soviet gymnast who won four gold medals and two silvers at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, and two gold medals and a bronze medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada.

Korbut was born on May 16, 1955, in Grodno, Belarus, which was then part of the Soviet Union. She began gymnastics at the age of five, and by the age of 11, she had won the junior national championship.
