Oliver Bearman: the new rising star of Formula 2

Oliver Bearman

Oliver Bearman is a British racing driver who currently competes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Prema Racing. He is the reigning Formula 3 champion, having won the title in 2022.

Bearman began his racing career in karting, and quickly rose through the ranks. He won the British Karting Championship in 2016, and the WSK Super Master Series in 2017. In 2018, he made his single-seater debut in the Formula 4 British Championship, and finished third overall.

The following year, Bearman moved up to the Formula 3 Regional European Championship, and won the title in his rookie season.

In 2021, Bearman joined the Prema Racing team in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. He won four races during the season, and finished second overall in the championship standings.

In 2022, Bearman won the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing.

He won five races during the season, and finished ahead of his teammate Victor Martins in the championship standings.

Bearman is widely regarded as one of the most promising young drivers in the world. He has been compared to Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, and is expected to make the step up to Formula 1 in the near future.

Bearman is a member of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Junior Driver Programme.

He has tested the team's Formula 1 car on several occasions, and is expected to get his first taste of Formula 1 racing in 2024.
