Ondo State Governor




The Ondo State Governor is the head of government and the chief executive of Ondo State, Nigeria. The governor is responsible for overseeing the state's executive branch and implementing state laws. The Governor is also responsible for appointing members of the State Executive Council, which is the highest decision-making body in the state.

The current Ondo State Governor is Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, who was elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2020.

Qualifications for the Ondo State Governor

Term of Office

The Ondo State Governor is elected for a four-year term and can be re-elected for a second term. The governor's term of office begins on the date of their inauguration.

Removal from Office

The Ondo State Governor can be removed from office by the State House of Assembly for gross misconduct or incompetence. The governor can also be removed from office by the President of Nigeria for a violation of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
