Paul Maurice




Paul Maurice is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Maurice has also coached the Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers.

As a player, Maurice played 11 seasons in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets, Hartford Whalers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and St. Louis Blues. He scored 127 goals and 251 assists in 555 career NHL games.

Maurice began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Jets in 1995. He was named the head coach of the Jets in 1996 and led the team to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1997. Maurice was fired by the Jets in 2004 and went on to coach the Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Edmonton Oilers.
