Perdue chicken had ended up in my bed!

It's true. I found a piece of Perdue chicken in my bed the other day. I was so shocked that I almost screamed! I mean, who expects to find chicken in their bed?
I'm not sure how it got there. Maybe my cat brought it in. I don't know. But I do know that it was gross.
I immediately threw the chicken away and washed my sheets. I also called Perdue to let them know what had happened. They were very apologetic and said that they would investigate the matter.
I'm still not sure how the chicken got in my bed, but I'm glad that I found it before I went to sleep. I don't want to think about what would have happened if I had rolled over and eaten it!

In all seriousness, though, this is a serious issue. Perdue is a major food company, and their products are eaten by millions of people every day. If there is a problem with their products, it could have a major impact on public health.
Perdue has recalled about 363K pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products over Listeria concerns. The recall includes frozen, fully cooked crispy chicken breast strips and patties that were produced and shipped nationwide between Dec. 12, 2020 and March 16, 2021.

The affected products have the establishment number “P-33901” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The following is a list of the specific products that are included in the recall:
• 22-oz. bag of Perdue Simply Smart Organics Gluten Free Chicken Breast Strips
• 13-oz. box of Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets
• 12-oz. bag of Perdue Harvestland Breaded Chicken Breast Strips

Listeria can cause serious illness, especially in pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of Listeria infection include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
If you think you may have become ill from eating contaminated chicken, you should see a doctor immediately.
Perdue is urging consumers to check their freezers for the recalled products and to throw them away if they have them. The company is also working with retailers to remove the products from store shelves.
If you have any questions about the recall, you can call Perdue at 1-800-422-7373.
