Princess Diaries

Dear Diary,
I'm writing to you today because I have a secret. A big, juicy secret that I can't keep bottled up inside any longer.
You see, I'm not just your average teenage girl. I'm actually a princess.
Yes, I know what you're thinking: "Mia, that's crazy. You're just a normal girl from San Francisco." And I was too, once. But then my grandmother, the Queen of Genovia, showed up on my doorstep and dropped this bombshell on me.
Apparently, my father was the Crown Prince of Genovia and I'm his rightful heir. Which means I'm the Princess of Genovia.
I can't believe it still. Me, a princess? It's like something out of a fairy tale. But it's true. I've even been to Genovia and met my grandmother. She's actually really nice, even though she's also a little bit...well, royal.
Anyway, I'm not sure what to do with this new information. I mean, I'm still Mia, right? The same girl who loves pizza and hates math? But I'm also a princess. And that comes with a whole new set of responsibilities and expectations.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit scared. What if I'm not good enough? What if I make a mistake and embarrass Genovia? But I'm also excited. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
I'm going to embrace it. I'm going to learn everything I can about being a princess. And I'm going to make Genovia proud.
Love,
Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia
