Quah Kim Song




Quah Kim Song (born February 1952) is a former Singaporean footballer who played as a striker. Quah's swift agility earned him the nicknames "Mercurial", "Quicksilver" and "Speed Demon" by fans and media.

Quah began his football career with the Tiong Bahru Constituency Sports Club in 1968. He was spotted by national team coach Choo Seng Quee and made his international debut in 1970 at the age of 18. Quah quickly became a regular in the national team and was part of the team that won the Malaysia Cup in 1977 and 1980.

Quah retired from international football in 1989, having played 129 matches and scored 35 goals for Singapore. He is considered one of the greatest Singaporean footballers of all time.

After retiring from football, Quah worked as a coach and commentator. He also served as the president of the Football Association of Singapore from 2014 to 2017.

Quah is married to Sylvia Lim, the Chairperson of the Workers' Party. They have two children, Leon and Leonora.
