Unlearn and Relearn

What an awesome day with so much excitement and adrenalin. My idea generation from what we can do now, where we can go and why we need to change is gigantic.

As human-beings we become set in our ways with our tried and tested ways and work ourself into our state of boredom. Today has given me a new set of ideas, content and thoughts on how I can better teach my students and my colleagues. Suddenly my world is bigger than Durban and KZN. This set of tools gives me a way to undo many of the old techniques of teaching and learning that are fast becoming obsolete and no longer work. Herein these tools lies the new Age of the Teacher and lifelong learning.

The constraints of learning in a classroom, with physical materials like pen, paper and desks, being directed by a teacher within specified hours of start and finish times of lectures/ lessons are dissolving and disappearing. Our industry is being turned up-side down and we must take lessons from the music and print/publishing industry. Lucky we are being pro-active and starting now.
