Richie Sadlier

As a former professional footballer who spent a decade navigating the highs and lows of a career in professional football, I have experienced the emotions of victorious wins, the agony of defeat, the highs of representing my country, and the lows of injuries that prematurely ended my career. I had to come to terms with the sudden loss of the sport that had been my life and had provided a sense of belonging and camaraderie that I was now left without.

I have counseled young players on navigating the pressures of professional football. I have spoken at schools, clubs, and charities about my own experiences and what I have learned along the way. I want to help others learn from my mistakes and to make better choices in their own lives.

I am passionate about helping others who are struggling with similar issues. I believe that everyone has the potential to overcome challenges and to live a fulfilling life. I am also a qualified psychotherapist and have worked with a variety of clients, including those struggling with anxiety, depression, and addiction. My personal experiences, combined with my professional training, have given me a unique perspective that allows me to connect with people on a deep level.

I am committed to using my voice to help others. I believe that by sharing my story, I can help break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage others to seek help. I want to show people that it is possible to overcome adversity and to live a happy and fulfilling life.
