Road House (2024)
This is the year of remakes, my friends, and oh boy, do we have a doozy for you. The iconic 1989 classic
Road House is getting a fresh coat of paint, and it's coming to a theater near you in 2024.
Now, I know what you're thinking: Do we really need another
Road House? I mean, the original is a stone-cold classic. It's got everything you could ever want in a movie: Patrick Swayze, bouncers in leather vests, Sam Elliott chewing scenery, and a fight scene that will make you want to punch a wall.
But hear me out, because this remake has some serious star power behind it. Jake Gyllenhaal is stepping into Swayze's shoes as Dalton, the enigmatic bouncer who comes to a small town to clean up the local bar. And get this: Billy Magnussen, the delightfully sleazy star of
No Time to Die, is playing the villainous Brad Wesley. Let's just say the sparks are gonna fly when these two go head-to-head.
I don't want to spoil too much, but let me tell you that the new Road House is shaping up to be an action-packed, adrenaline-fueled ride. The fight scenes are brutal, the characters are larger than life, and the whole thing is infused with a healthy dose of humor.
Of course, it wouldn't be Road House without some iconic lines. And I'm happy to report that the remake has plenty of them.
Dalton: "Pain don't hurt."
Brad Wesley: "I own this town."
Dalton: "Your town's about to get a whole lot smaller."
I'll be honest, I was skeptical about this remake at first. But after seeing the trailer, I'm cautiously optimistic. It looks like it's going to be a fun, nostalgic ride that pays homage to the original while still bringing something new to the table.
So, mark your calendars for 2024. Road House is coming to kick your butt. And trust me, you're not gonna want to miss it.
