Rte Toy Show
The Late Late Toy Show is a highlight of the Irish festive season, and it was back last night! Hosted by Ryan Tubridy, the show saw thousands of gifts donated to over 100,000 children. The show had something for everyone, with music, dancing, comedy and plenty of irreplaceable moments.
As always, there were some incredible performances by our talented young people from across Ireland. We saw some sensational singing from Adam King and a delightful dance routine from the Ellis family, who have been a part of the Toy Show for many years.
The Toy Show isn't just about the performances though, it's also about the children who come on the show to share their stories. This year, we heard from some truly inspirational young people, including Jack Mooney, who has battled leukaemia for much of his young life. He spoke about his experiences and how he learned to stay positive even when things are tough. He was then rewarded for his optimism with a host of gifts, including his favourite toys, Pokémon and Star Wars.
Another highlight of the show was the moment that Luna, a young girl with Down Syndrome, met her favourite TV character, Peppa pig. It was a truly heartwarming moment, and one that brought a smile to everyone's faces. Jack and Luna both demostrated that by staying positive a child can overcome anything. For Jack, it's battling cancer, for Luna, it's overcoming the challenges that come with Down Syndrome. Through their strength, they've proven that there truly is magic in the air at Christmas.
The Late Late Toy Show is always a magical night, and this year's show was no different. It was a celebration of the joy and magic of Christmas, and it reminded us all of the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate.
Unfortunately, the show was marred by a small number of technical difficulties. This meant that the show ran for longer than planned, and some of the performances had to be cut short.
Despite the technical difficulties, the Late Late Toy Show was still a wonderful night. It was a night of magic, fun, and inspiration, and it showed us all that the true spirit of Christmas is alive and well.
