Salmonella outbreak mini pastries Canada




Have you enjoyed mini pastries lately? If so, you may want to read this.
A warning has been issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regarding certain mini pastries due to possible Salmonella contamination.


The affected products are:

  • Kirkland Signature Mini Croissants, 423 g
  • Kirkland Signature Mini Pains au Chocolat, 423 g
  • Kirkland Signature Mini Danish, 680 g
These products were sold in Costco stores across Canada.
The CFIA is advising consumers not to consume these products and to discard them. These products should not be sold or distributed.
If you have these products in your home, please discard them. Do not consume them.
Symptoms of Salmonella infection can include:
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • abdominal cramps
  • fever
  • chills
  • headache
  • muscle aches
Symptoms usually start 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Most people recover without treatment.
In some cases, Salmonella infection can lead to serious complications, such as:
  • septicemia
  • meningitis
  • arthritis
  • endocarditis
These complications are more likely to occur in people with weakened immune systems.
