Sam Groth: The Tennis Star Who Conquered the Court and Parliament House

I always loved tennis. When I was a kid, I would spend hours hitting balls against the wall in my backyard, dreaming of one day becoming a professional player.
And my dream came true. I played on the ATP Tour for over a decade, winning two doubles titles and reaching a career-high ranking of 53 in singles. I played at Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and the US Open. I represented my country at the Olympics. It was an incredible experience.
But after I retired from tennis, I felt like there was more to my life. I wanted to give back to the community and make a difference in the world. So I decided to run for office.
In 2022, I was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as a member of the Liberal Party.
I'm proud of the work I'm doing in Parliament. I'm fighting for better schools, better hospitals, and a better future for all Victorians. I'm also working to make tennis more accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or ability.
But I never forget my roots. I'm still a tennis player at heart. And I'm still passionate about the game. I believe that tennis can teach us valuable lessons about life, such as discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have played tennis at the highest level. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve my community in Parliament. I'm excited to see what the future holds for both me and tennis.
