Shalandria Macpherson Was Worried About Traveling Alone, But Then...

Traveling solo for the first time can be daunting, but it can also be an incredibly rewarding experience.
For me, one of the biggest challenges was overcoming my fear of the unknown.
But I'm so glad I did, because it led me to some of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I've traveled to over 30 countries on my own, and each trip has been unique and unforgettable.
I've met all sorts of interesting people, experienced different cultures, and learned so much about myself.
Here are a few of my favorite memories so far:

  • Visiting the Great Wall of China: I've always been fascinated by the Great Wall, and it was even more incredible in person.
I hiked for hours, taking in the stunning views and learning about the history of this iconic landmark.
  • Going on a safari in Africa: I've always wanted to see the wildlife of Africa, and I was blown away by the beauty and diversity of the animals.
I saw lions, elephants, zebras, and giraffes, and I even got to go on a walking safari with a Maasai guide.
  • Learning to cook traditional Italian food in Tuscany: I've always loved Italian food, and I was excited to learn how to make it myself.
I took a cooking class in a small village in Tuscany, and I learned how to make delicious dishes like pasta, pizza, and tiramisu.
  • Backpacking through Southeast Asia: I spent several months backpacking through Southeast Asia, and I fell in love with the region.
I visited Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar, and I was amazed by the beautiful temples, stunning beaches, and friendly people.
  • Volunteering at an orphanage in India: I spent a few weeks volunteering at an orphanage in India, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I got to work with the children, learn about their culture, and make a difference in their lives.

These are just a few of my favorite travel memories, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
If you're thinking about traveling solo, I encourage you to go for it.
It's an incredible experience that will change your life for the better.
