Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament in India. The first season was held in 2008–09 and is named after former Indian cricketer Syed Mushtaq Ali.
The tournament is played annually by 38 teams, representing the various states and union territories of India. The teams are divided into five zones: North, South, Central, East, and West.
The tournament is played in a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once. The top two teams from each zone qualify for the Super League, which is played in a single-elimination format. The winner of the Super League is crowned the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy champion.
The tournament has been won by some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, including Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, and Rohit Sharma.
The 2024 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be held from November 23 to December 15. The tournament will be played across five venues in India: Eden Gardens (Kolkata), M.A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Hyderabad), and Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
The final of the tournament will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on December 15.
I think this tournament is a great opportunity for young cricketers to showcase their talent. It is also a great way for fans to see some of the best cricketers in India in action.
I am really looking forward to the 2024 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I think it is going to be a great tournament, and I can't wait to see who wins.
