Snow in South Africa

It's not every day that you see snow in South Africa. In fact, it's so rare that when it happens, it's a major news story. And that's exactly what happened when snow fell in the Free State province in September 2024.

• The snow fell overnight, and by morning, the ground was covered in a thick blanket of white.
• It was a beautiful sight, but it also caused some disruption. Roads were closed, and schools were cancelled.
• But for the most part, people were just happy to enjoy the snow. They built snowmen, had snowball fights, and took lots of pictures.
