Sonia Mbele




Sonia Mbele is a South African actress, television host, and businesswoman. She is best known for her roles as Ntombi Khumalo in the SABC1 soap opera Generations and as Miriam Ngubane in the e.tv soap opera Scandal!.
Mbele was born in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. She attended the National School of the Arts and the University of the Witwatersrand, where she studied drama and film.
Mbele began her acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in small roles in television shows and films. She got her big break in 2005 when she was cast as Ntombi Khumalo in Generations. Mbele played the role for five years, and earned a nomination for a Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Soap Opera.
In 2011, Mbele left Generations to join the cast of Scandal!. She has played the role of Miriam Ngubane since then, and has earned two nominations for a Golden Horn Award for Best Actress in a Soap Opera.
