Spencer Dinwiddie




Spencer Dinwiddie is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes before being drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 38th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.
Early Life and College Career
Spencer Dinwiddie was born on April 6, 1993, in Los Angeles, California. He attended Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California, where he was a standout basketball player. Dinwiddie then played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes from 2011 to 2014. As a senior, he averaged 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game and was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team.
NBA Career
Dinwiddie was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 38th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. He spent two seasons with the Pistons before being traded to the Chicago Bulls in 2016. Dinwiddie then signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2018 and quickly became a key contributor. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in the 2019-20 season and was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
Injury and Return
In December 2020, Dinwiddie suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee and missed the rest of the season. He returned to the court in the 2021-22 season and averaged 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
National Team Career
Dinwiddie has represented the United States on several occasions. He won a gold medal with the U.S. team at the 2013 FIBA Americas U19 Championship and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Dinwiddie also played for the U.S. team at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup and helped the team win a silver medal.

Dinwiddie is known for his love of basketball and his strong work ethic. He is also a vocal advocate for social justice and has spoken out against police brutality and racial inequality.
