Staines fire

On 19 November 2014, a major fire broke out at the old printing works of the Staines News and Advertiser in Clarence Street, Staines, Surrey, England.

The blaze began at around 15:00 GMT and quickly spread to a number of neighboring buildings, including a church and a community centre. A number of homes were also evacuated as a precaution.

More than 100 firefighters were called to the scene, and the fire was brought under control by around 21:00 GMT. However, the damage to the buildings was extensive. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The fire has had a significant impact on the local community. The Staines News and Advertiser, which had been in business for over 150 years, has lost its premises and all of its archives. The church and community centre have also been badly damaged. These were all important landmarks in Staines, and their loss is a great blow to the town.

In the wake of the fire, the community has come together to support those who have been affected. A number of fundraisers have been organized to help the Staines News and Advertiser get back on its feet, and volunteers have been working to clear up the damage. The people of Staines have shown great resilience in the face of adversity, and they are determined to rebuild their community.
