The main race on Stakes Day is the VRC Champions Stakes. The VRC Champions Stakes is a 2000-metre race for horses aged three and up and is one of the most prestigious races in Australia. The race has been won by some of the greatest horses in Australian history, including Makybe Diva, Black Caviar and Winx.
Other races on Stakes Day include the VRC Oaks, the VRC Derby, and the VRC Sprint Classic.
How to get to Stakes DayStakes Day is held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. The racecourse is located about 5 kilometres from the city centre.
There are a number of ways to get to Flemington Racecourse on Stakes Day.
Stakes Day is a formal event, so it's important to dress accordingly.
For men, a suit or dress pants and a shirt and tie are appropriate. For women, a dress, skirt and top, or pantsuit is appropriate.
