Early Life and Career
Komphela was born on 10 July 1967 in Mafikeng, South Africa. He began playing soccer at a young age and joined the Kaizer Chiefs youth academy in 1985. He made his senior debut for the club in 1987 and went on to make over 200 appearances for the Amakhosi.
Komphela also played for the South African national team, making 11 appearances between 1992 and 1995. He was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that won the 1996 African Cup of Nations.
Coaching Career
