Bruno Fernandes cried a storm of tears after his move to Manchester United from Tottenham was confirmed.
In an interview with The Place Tribune on Thursday (April 24), he told United fans how much he loves the club.
He began by telling fans the story of his move to United four years ago. "My agent called me at 10 o'clock at night. My daughter was three years old and that was her bedtime. I went into the closet to talk quietly. I always tell my agent, 'I don't want to hear about transfers until I'm 100%. I don't want to be distracted,'" he says, recalling the day the move to Man United was finalized.
"His agent said to him, 'Are you ready to hear the news? "What's the news, where are you going, Tottenham?" Bruno asked. "Man United," the agent replied simply. "I'm serious. I'm not kidding. He's going to Man United. It's all over. What team do you want?" But Bruno's mouth was already agape.
When his wife came over and asked him what happened, he burst into tears and said, "I'm just happy." And that's how his move to Man United was finalized.
"Tottenham was the only Premier League (EPL) club to show specific interest in me during the summer transfer window, and I was excited. It was my life goal to play in the EPL. But it fell through because the clubs couldn't agree on a deal.
For Bruno, Man United was a dream. For a player who grew up watching 메이저토토사이트 Cristiano Ronaldo's time at the club, the Red Devils and Old Trafford were a shrine. But for a young soccer prospect growing up in a small town in Portugal, playing for the Red Devils was a dream that seemed far away.
"I took a long journey, step by step," Bruno says. It was a very long journey, but I wasn't going to stop until it was over. "The moment my agent called me four years ago and told me that Man United wanted me, the dream was complete," he said, explaining that his move to Man United fulfilled his dream.
Everyone who follows the EPL knows how Bruno has performed since his move to Manchester United. Bruno has developed into one of the EPL's leading attacking midfielders and has been world-class. While Bruno has gotten less attention because of United's dark days, the club's dark days would be much darker without him.
Bruno was recently linked with a move away from the club, but he promised United fans that he would stay. "More than anything in the world, I love when I step into Old Trafford and take a step forward. I don't want to leave. It's always been my ultimate goal. I just hope that my expectations and the ambitions of the club match. I want to win the league, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to play in cup finals, that's what I want. I want to be here, and so does my family," he said of his decision to stay.
