Subway ends 6.99 Meal Deal

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Or, at least, it was the best of fast food deals, and it was the worst of fast food deals.

Subway's beloved $6.99 Meal Deal, which offered a six-inch sub, a small fountain drink, and a bag of chips or two cookies, has come to an abrupt end. The deal, which was introduced in November 2024, was set to run through the end of the year, but Subway has pulled the plug early due to poor sales.

Subway has not officially announced the reason for the deal's demise, but it's likely that it simply wasn't profitable enough for the franchise. Subway has been struggling in recent years, and the $6.99 Meal Deal was seen as a way to attract new customers and boost sales. However, it appears that the deal was not enough to offset the company's other challenges, such as rising costs and increased competition.

The end of the $6.99 Meal Deal is a sad day for fast food lovers. It was a great deal, and it will be missed. But, hey, at least we still have the $5 Footlong.

In the meantime, if you're looking for a cheap and easy meal, you can always try making your own sandwich at home. It's not as convenient as going to Subway, but it's a lot cheaper, and you can customize it to your liking.

Here's a recipe for a simple ham and cheese sandwich that you can make at home:

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • Mustard (optional)
  • Mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Spread mustard and/or mayonnaise on one slice of bread.
  2. Layer the ham and cheese on top of the bread.
  3. Top with the remaining slice of bread.
  4. Cut in half and enjoy!

You can also add other toppings to your sandwich, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, or pickles. Get creative and make it your own!
