Sundowns

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the land, I found myself drawn to the edge of the clearing. The air was still and the only sound was the gentle rustle of leaves as the wind whispered through the trees.

I sat down on a fallen log and gazed out at the sky. The colors were breathtaking—a symphony of orange, pink, and purple that seemed to dance before my eyes. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air, savoring the moment.

Suddenly, I heard a sound behind me. I turned and saw a small deer standing in the shadows. It was just a young fawn, its eyes wide and curious.

I stayed perfectly still, not wanting to startle it. The fawn took a few hesitant steps towards me, then stopped. It seemed to be studying me, its head tilted to one side.

After a few moments, the fawn seemed to decide that I was no threat. It lowered its head and began to graze on the grass nearby.

I watched the fawn for a long time, marveling at its innocence and grace.

As the sun continued to set, the colors in the sky became even more vibrant. The clouds turned a deep crimson, like a sea of molten lava.

I felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over me. The world seemed to be at rest, and for a brief moment, I was able to forget all my worries and just be present in the beauty of that moment.

As the last rays of sunlight faded away, I knew that it was time to go.

I stood up and took one last look at the sky. The colors were now a deep indigo, and the stars were beginning to twinkle.

I turned and walked away, my heart filled with gratitude for the magic of the sundowns.
