Tanner McKee: A Quarterback on the Rise

It was a cold and blustery day in Philadelphia when I first saw Tanner McKee take the field. The Eagles were hosting the Dallas Cowboys in a crucial NFC East matchup, and with starting quarterback Jalen Hurts and backup Kenny Pickett both injured, McKee was thrust into the starting role.
I had heard good things about McKee, a former four-star recruit who had transferred to Stanford from Texas A&M. But I had never seen him play in person. As he took the field, I was struck by his size and athleticism. He is a tall, well-built quarterback with a strong arm and good mobility.
McKee started the game slowly, completing just 3 of his first 7 passes for 28 yards. But as the game went on, he settled into a rhythm and began to make some big plays. He finished the game 18-of-29 for 214 yards and a touchdown, leading the Eagles to a come-from-behind victory.
After the game, I had the chance to talk to McKee briefly. He was humble and gracious, and he spoke about how grateful he was for the opportunity to start. He also said that he was confident in his ability to lead the Eagles to success.
I believe that McKee has the potential to be a very good quarterback. He has all the physical tools, and he is a smart and hard-working player. I am excited to see what he can accomplish in the years to come.
